Up to eight rings: the terminal of
the brushes are on a single side. Above eight rings they are alternated on
two sides. In the picture there are all the
15 rings that can be provided with numeration corresponding at the terminal
board. If less the exceeding rings are not provided and the numeration counts
for the number of rings provided. DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND ASSEMBLY The collector can be assembled
with the nuts up or down. The seal vs. dripping is better with the nuts up.
The ring part (pipe) must be jointly fixed at a support with maximum
thickness of 28mm with either a threaded hole Æ48 pitch 1,5 or with a passer-by hole Æ50 mm or Æ53 mm
looking that it cannot turn, clasping carefully the nuts. The brushes part,
turning as regard to the rings-part, must be dragged with the special peg
(dragging peg in the picture). Before the final clamping of the commutator
let the raising cable pass in the pipe (if necessary). Unthread the cap “B”
to execute the connections at the terminal board of the rings. The inspection
of the terminals of the rings-part or to the terminals of the brushes is easy
even at work and with the passer by cable, unthreading the cap “B” and the
custody “A”, without removing the linked cables. Usually, until eight rings,
the collector has got one pipe union for each side. Above eight rings there
are two pipe unions. You can assembly the second pipe union on demand, with
the collector already at work. The rings must always be clean and polished to
avoid abnormal consummation of the brushes. Remember to remove occasional
carbon-deposits caused by discharges. Be sure to hold the heads of the cable
grips, the ferrule that holds the cap, and the nuts that fix the custody
closed.
